Forest Side Wedding : Jackie + Ivan

Jackie and Ivan’s wedding day at The Forest Side in the Lake District contained all of the elements that I love to incorporate into my photos, cultural traditions, cute children, stunning landscapes, happy guests, a great party and one happy bride and groom! The Michelin standard wedding breakfast was an added bonus that I also got to enjoy (the things I do in the name of photography!) 😊

The Lake District holds a special place for me, its where Laura and I got engaged and trips to the Lakes are where I first started to fall in love with photography, capturing the beautiful landscapes with my first DSLR (getting up at 4am to wade into Connniston!). I love returning to this area and had been there camping with my family a week before shooting Jackie and Ivan’s big day.

Jackie and Ivan are both so laid back! When I arrived in the morning Ivan was just having a nap (no nerves there!) whilst Jackie and the girls were super chilled and enjoying the morning getting ready. The Forest Side is a venue I’ve been aware of for a long time due to it’s amazing food. I must admit I didn’t know you could get married there, and it turns out it makes a stunning wedding venue!

In the evening the Forest Side Restaurant turned into a mini nightclub, with band “The Fat Cat’s” rocking. As you an see in the photos, these guys love to Party, I was shooting until the end of the night. Something I love to do as the last couple of hours on the dancefloor are always my favourite!

What an absolute pleasure it was to capture the day for Ivan and Jackie, sooooo much fun 🙂
