Kate and David’s Barmby Moor Wedding
David is described as an “enthusiastic carnivore” where as Kate a long time vegetarian. Kate is small, David is tall. Kate is a journalist, David is a manly farmer. Together they are a perfect couple!
What an amazing wedding in Yorkshire! My weekend started on the Friday night, where I was warmly welcomed by a group of Kate and David’s friends into a house they were all sharing for the weekend. Kate supplied me with an array of floor plans and maps for the house, a sign of the meticulous planning that went into the wedding day! Once arrived, I made the brave friday night decision to forgo the wine and grab a cup of tea before an early night 🙂
Bright and early on a glorious 1st June, I headed to Kate’s parents, where Kate was getting ready with all of the bridesmaids. The morning was fun and relaxed, with bacon and croissants flowing nicely!
This was my first humanist ceremony, and it was expertly provided by Ewan Main. Ewan provided the perfect blend of humour and emotion, and it was a real joy to witness. It really was a relaxed day, the ceremony and reception was at Barmby Moor in Pocklington. Barmby Moor is one of the many spectacular locations available via Field Day Site Hire. This barn was in keeping with David’s farming roots, and it looked spectacular on the day. Kate, David and their friends and family had really made this their own venue, and had an assortment of games and activities for the children (and adults) to take part in throughout the day.
In the evening, the amazing Mini Big Band played some incredible swing, and all the guests were still having the time of their lives as I headed home to Cheshire.
Oh Adam, I don’t know what to say… It all went by in touch a blur, it’s like you’re giving us back the most amazing day of our lives…

Love these Adam – the bride’s entrance in B&W in particular… Really lovely, and great observations all round.

Lovely story telling. I especially love the shots of the kids.

Thanks for the comments guys 🙂
Has been a while since I’ve popped across to your blog but am glad I did today! Really enjoyed looking through these images – a true ‘documentary’ feel to your work, from the bigger picture to the little details. The silhouette in the sunset is a fabulous shot too – great understanding and control of light.
The boys climbing the tree, an absolutely timeless image. Great work Adam!
Nice images Adam, very vivid colour processing but as said, a lovely feel to the entire set.
We quite liked them too 😉 you got the very very last shot of great aunt Sally, who passed away just two days later. She loved that day. X
Sorry to hear about your great Aunt Sally Kate and David. No doubt she had an amazing time at your wedding 🙂
