The UK is blessed with some of the most amazing landscapes and history in the world. Making use of both, a truly stunning venue, it was a pleasure to be a Tithe Barn Bolton Abbey Wedding Photographer for Alex and Fabien.
Near Skipton, North Yorkshire, you’ll find The Tithe Barn – Bolton Abbey. This enchanting wedding location exudes a rustic charm that perfectly complements its fantasy-like allure. Originally constructed during the 16th century, this historical barn is located within the grand Bolton Abbey Estate of the Duke of Devonshire, near the Yorkshire Dales, and offers breathtaking views of the historic Bolton Abbey Priory and the river that runs by. The Barn, a Grade II listed building, is among the UK’s largest exclusive-use wedding venues, meticulously restored while preserving its original allure. The venue, with its age-old features, stunning vistas, and sumptuous cuisine, enables you to revel in a rural wedding that mirrors the everlasting nature of your unique love story.
The morning saw me documenting the getting ready with Alex and the guys at the Devonshire Arms Hotel, where A flyby organised for Alex was watched by all before Alex headed off to the barn in a very special restored yellow VW Beatle.
Fabiaen arrived in a classic F type Jaguar, before the ceremony took place in the historic Barn, with the Sunsine filling the room with light. After the ceremony everyone headed outside for drinks and canapés. Later in the afternoon Alex and Fab jumped in the Jag and headed to the ancient Priory for some B&G portraits (cheered on and congratulated by many tourists).
In the evening, the barn is then transformed into a cosy dining room, enhanced by up-lights and fairy lights strung between the beams. Additionally, the modern kitchen has a view of the dining area so that guests can see the skilled chefs at work. The room is surrounded by exposed wooden beams and stone walls, which creates a cosy atmosphere that will make your guests feel as though they are travelling back in time. When the evening party begins, there are fire pits and lots of seats in an open area.
