Emily + Sam

What an amazing day it was capturing Emily and Sam’s Soughton Hall wedding back in September 2019 (I’m slowly catching up with sharing the weddings I’ve shot these past 3 years!). I documented Emily’s Dads wedding to Rachel in Port Sunlight a few years ago, and so knew this was going to be an epic day too!

Emily and Sam had enjoyed a “pre-moon” in Spain a week before the wedding (I like that idea!) and were fully reseted for an epic day! Emily and the girls got ready in the morning in one of the bedrooms at Soughton, before driving by Rolls Royce over the border to England and St Clare’s Church in Chester (the wedding was 6 years to the day from their 1st meeting in Chester). Sam was waiting, slightly nervously at the Church, and a beautiful ceremony followed.

After the ceremony, everyone headed back to Wales, and into the sun-soaked grounds of Soughton Hall. This was my first visit to Soughton Hall, a spectacular Georgian house in North Wales. You approach via sweeping driveway and can spend hours in their beautifully landscaped gardens. With the adults chatting and kids running riot, this is always one my favourite parts of the day to document. A very lively wedding breakfast, full of singing and heartfelt speeches led into the evening, where a roulette table and casino games awaited before the evening party, epic as always thanks to Wedding Jam. The evening was topped with Sam’s grandad bringing the house down at the end of the night with his rendition of “my way”.

Some of my favourite documentary images from the day below….
