Shrigley Hall Wedding Photography : Kim and Ben

Kim and Ben’s Shrigley Hall wedding back in June 2021 was my first “proper” wedding for 15 months due to the pandemic. During that period I’d shot a few small weddings (some as little as 4 guests), and a little commercial photography, but mostly occupied my time with DIY and looking after the kids! After so many years as a wedding photographer, I was chomping at the bit to get back to it!

Ben got ready at his parents home, and Kim at Shrigley hall. A stunning wedding venue in the heart of Cheshire, I’m no stranger to Shrigley Hall Wedding Photography. It’s a wedding venue I’ve shot at on numerous occasions, including for Georgina and Fraser (Bens sisters wedding!). It’s also really close to where I live, I regularly cycle past the hall (it’s on a killer hill, as all those familiar with the “brickworks climb” will agree!)

The ceremony was at the nearby Christ Church in Woodford, another waypoint on my cycle rides! Unfortunately Kim’s parents could not make it due to flight restrictions (living in the USA and Manila), so the whole ceremony was streamed from Kim’s laptop (see pics of Kim setting this up after arriving at the church!) It was strange seeing a wedding ceremony filled with so many people (although masked) for the first time since covid. But everyone quickly acclimatised to being closer than 2m and once the ceremony was over it was amazing to see people hugging again.

It was a real emotional day, especially as many of Kim’s family could not make it. But I’ve never seen so much smiling as these guys! I also got to meet Kim’s parents earlier this year when we did a little family photo shoot, and we did the shoot at Shrigley Hall!
