Walcot Hall Wedding : Lauren + Samantha
After previously staying at the Chapel on site , Lauren and Samantha knew Walcot Hall was the setting for them to marry and have a big celebratory party with family and friends. Originally of the 16th Century, I’m sure Walcot Hall was of particular appeal to historian Samantha, reaped in history, it is home to the Parish family, who have lived here for almost half a century. As I drove in on a beautiful September morning, I could see why they had fallen in love with this little patch of Shropshire. Many of the wedding guests stayed on site and Friday saw a gathering featuring booze, food and badminton – the perfect pre-wedding warm up. Competition must have still been in the air, as upon my arrival on the wedding morning, badminton was continuing for some!
Sam and Lauren, along with their bestwomen, got ready in separate rooms of the Hall. It was great to witness the two ladies getting ready so close together, and to capture their build up so they could could see what each other got up to before the I do’s.  Looking stunning, Samantha was the first to make her way down the staircase to the ceremony room (Lauren told me the order was based on Samantha being most likely to be late!), soon followed by the equally stunning Lauren, and beaming smiles all around. The  registrar for the ceremony was a friend’s mum and this immediately provided a relaxed vibe to the proceedings, which continued all day.
After virtually dancing down the aisle hand in hand as wife and wife,  everyone got drinking, chatting and laughing in the courtyard. Bathed in sunlight, it was perfect. I continued to look for moments, play with light and blend in with my little camera.
The ballroom, in existence since 1800, looked wonderful for the wedding breakfast, with canters of booze on each table looking very appealing to me (I was driving home, so I didn’t sample them!). The synchronised downing of Jäger bombs by Lauren and Samantha on the dance-floor signalled the start of some epic partying and a night to remember!
Samantha and Lauren are a wonderful couple, so much in love.  It was a joy to capture the story of the day. Some of my favourite Walcot Hall Wedding photography below…
Stunning work Adam and a wonderful example of how weddings should be documented.
Those evening shots have a real “film” like quality to them. Superb stuff 🙂
