The home of Music with a thriving arts scene, Manchester is a city loved by its residents and visitors alike. Based in South Manchester, this is the city I was born and grew up in. I have photographed hundreds of weddings in the past 12 years in my unique documentary style, and love nothing more than shooting at Manchester’s best wedding venues. From small pub weddings, large city hotels to country estate venues on the outskirts of the city. Check out some of my favourite Manchester wedding venues below.

A working theatre as your wedding venue? You have to get in quick to secure one of Manchester’s best wedding venues, as it holds just 8 weddings a year! . On the edge of the city centre, the theatre is a blank canvas that enables you to bring your wedding day vision to life. With the huge theatre space for ceremonies the wedding breakfasts and partying, there is also a separate bar /lounge area and plenty of outdoor space. The urban backdrop is perfect both inside and out.

Set in the marketown of Altringham, this venue is a secret gem. The Edwardian building, dating back to 1903 has a stunning ballroom with plenty of space for ceremonies, wedding breakfasts and huge celebrations, whilst the longe provides the perfect place to relax. Check out the wedding of Andy and Adessa at the Bowdon rooms.

Owen House Wedding Barn

Owen House Barn is a rustic, bespoke barn in Mobberley, Cheshire, not far from Manchester Airport. It’s beautiful countryside setting and proximity to Manchester give the best of both worlds. The team here really know how to create the perfect setting. With bespoke rooms for the bride and groom to prepare for the day, beautiful cosy ceremony space, huge barn and a hidden area for bride and groom portraits. I really love photographing at this Manchester wedding venue.
The Midland Hotel

This iconic Manchester hotel is all about the grandeur and history of the city. Once refusing access to the Beatles (because they were not appropriately dressed), it has seen guest such as the Queen Mother and is where the famous due Charles Rolls met Henry Royce. The food here is spectacular, and home to my favourite restaurant in Manchester, The French. A grand setting for a wedding!
