Reportage Wedding Photographer
When Nicola and Mark asked me to be their reportage wedding photographer, I was thrilled. Not only were they a great couple, getting married at one of my favourite wedding venues – but also big Manchester United fans 🙂
Middleton Lodge is one of the nicest venues in the North of England, not just the setting, but also the staff. In 2012 I covered many weddings at this picturesque house, but this was my first with the ceremony at the nearby St Michaels and all Angels Church.
The ceremony at the church was particularly significant, as Nicola’s step dad Steve was the vicar for the wedding! It was actually really useful to chat to Steve properly before the ceremony and explain my unobtrusive approach. Like many Vicars I’ve spoken to, he was a little wary about the photography due to previous negative experiences of photographers drawing attention to themselves during the ceremony. After the wedding, Steve said he didn’t notice my presence at all, which I take as a big compliment 🙂
A fun and relaxed wedding, including shots for everyone during the speeches, and a lovely song by Nicola’s Dad for his daughter – I documented the days proceedings from the preparation in the morning, until the dancing was well underway late at night!
Although the wedding was shot last September, Nicola and Mark have just returned from their honeymoon, so I thought it would be a great time to blog some of my favourite images from the day…

A great set of images as always Adam. Really love the shot of the guys outside with the vicar and the speeches look hysterical.
Some great images there Adam. I agree with Karen, the shot with the vicar and the boys really caught my eye. Like the dancing shots also! Nice one!
Powerful photos as always.
Great images! I especially love the shot of the first dance and the image immediately following after. Amazing composition and great timing!
A big, big thumbs up for this set. I see more colour work creeping in, and I love it!
Great stuff as always Adam. I like the image where you have framed it with the marquee. Lots of lovely images.
Gorgeous work! I love your style Adam. 🙂
