Reportage Wedding Photographer

When Katie and David first approached me about being their reportage wedding photographer I was thrilled. Not only was the wedding at the gorgeous Middleton Lodge in North Yorkshire, but David and Katie are two of the nicest people you could meet 😀

I’ve shot quite a few weddings at Middleton Lodge, the most recent being earlier this year. Its a wonderful venue with fantastic staff and it lends itself to a reportage wedding photographer with its lovely natural light and beautiful surroundings.

I documented the day from the preparation of both Katie and David in the morning, through to the speeches. It was a really fun intimate wedding and the elusive sun even made an appearance. I got my fair share of exercise, running around outside with Katie’s bridesmaids and mum who were playing hide and seek outside in the morning 😀

There are not many weddings that I get to capture the groom preparing for the day but as as both David and Katie were getting ready at Middleton Lodge (in different rooms!) I got the chance to take some shots of David and his best man Adam preparing and welcoming guests – providing another viewpoint of the day.

Katie walked down the aisle with her proud mum and a beautiful ceremony followed. Afterwards we all headed outside for a relaxed reception with a bit more hide-and-seek (this time for the kids only). It was a pleasure to capture the story of the day for David and Katie.
