Great John Street Wedding : Katie + Luke
“We can’t stop looking at the pictures and absolutely love them. You’ve really captured the atmosphere and the day there’s so much that passed us by in a blur it’s really amazing to look back and reflect! This is just how we wanted our day captured, thank you!”
Despite only living 15 minutes from Manchester, I don’t get to venture into town very often, and was really looking forward to Katie and Luke’s Great John Street wedding in the centre of Manchester. The rooftop of the hotel, overlooking the cobbles of the coronation street set is a unique venue and the perfect place for the real good party Katie and Luke had planned!
In the morning I headed over to the hairdressers in Prestwich where the girls were underway with hair and makeup. The excitement was building as we headed to Katie’s house where the record player was spinning and the final stages of preparation being completed. It was the day before fathers day and Katie’s Dad, Peter was putting his fatherly skills to good use, providing hugs and laughs for Katie as she started to get a little nervous.
Katie and her bridesmaids arrived at a wet (but very beautiful) St Mary’s Church. Luke was beaming as his bride walked down the aisle to join him. After a lovely ceremony, everyone headed into Manchester on the big red bus. During the journey, rain cleared and blue sky arrived, perfect for drinks and canapés on the roof terrace of Great John Street.
The evening ended with one heck of a party the dance floor was bustling as the celebrations continued into the night! It was a real pleasure to capture – thanks for having me guys!
