New House Farm Wedding : Becca and Ben
The Lake District holds a special place for Becca and Ben, so setting their celebration in the heart of the Lakes was the obvious choice. It was my first visit to New House Farm, a tearoom by day (or by midweek to be more accurate), it sits in one of the most glorious backdrops in the UK. Plans to enjoy the scenic views outside worked out perfectly, I think this was my first wedding in this part of the world with no rain! The venue looked stunning due to the hard work of Becca and her Dad, so much handcrafted goodness, along with the canapés and cocktail’s on offer, it really brought the Mediterranean to Cumbria (and with a honeymoon to France / Italy / Spain, it had to be done).
The celebrations started with a very special ceremony at St Bartholomew Church, lead by Ben’s Dad who was the vicar! I managed to sneak a shot of him contemplating the service alone as guests awaited the arrival of Becca, a simple shot, but one of my favourites of the set. Oh, and what an arrival it was, the blue Ford Anglia taken straight out of Harry Potter, another love of Becca’s 🙂
Throughout the day I did my thing, leaving everyone to have fun whilst I captured the moments, big and small, #idontstagemoments 😉 In the evening, the first dance was followed by a surprise for the guests, the awesome Back Chat Brass marched into the barn, bringing the party up another level. Anyone that follows my instagram stories (@adamrileyphotography) would have seen the crazy outdoor party the band led us on, something that continued to sundown and beyond!
Becca and Ben were such an ace couple to shoot for, they just let their hair down and enjoyed living in the moment. I shot for 16 hours, and loved every minute! Some of my favourite storytelling images below…
