Liesa & John

I knew I was going to get on well with these guys. Over a Google Hangout, Liesa told me how she is a photography fan, and likened my work (very kindly) to the amazing Martin Parr, a favourite street photographer of mine and one of the greats. John (from sunny Blackpool) and I chatted about the North and how you can’t beat a chip butty (Liesa thought carb on carb was too weird!).

On the day, it was my first visit to Two Temple Place in London, a beautiful venue built in 1891 for the richest person in the world, William Waldorf Astor!
I didn’t photograph Liesa getting prepared for the day, instead documented John having a couple of pre-wedding drinks with most of the guests at the Bank of England pub. It was then a short walk to the wedding ceremony at Two Temple Place.

A truly personal humanist ceremony, it was filled with love and laughter. Anyone that includes readings from Hadaway (the 90’s classic, What is love?) and Backstreet Boys is onto a winner!

Liesa has worked for Vogue and was keen not to be posing all day like a photo shoot. I was allowed to do my thing and quietly document all the fun and energy that was this amazing couple! A few of my favourite frames from the day below.
