Home marquee wedding – Tiff + Jack
“These are brilliant!!”
Last summer I captured the beautiful home wedding of Tiff and Jack in Cheshire. The reception was held at Tiff’s parents’ garden and was absolutely stunning – thanks to the wonderful ladies at Fabulous Together! I’ve been lucky enough to work with Debbie and Andrea a number of times, and they always ensure the day runs like clockwork, allowing the bride and groom to enjoy maximum time with friends and family (something I think is very important on the day, hence my hands off approach) whilst wowing the guests. They definitely succeeded in making this a memorable setting, with a huge marquee by the lake, incredible floral arrangements, a children’s bespoke play area and a Bell tent “festival village” for guests to stay over (a nice short walk/stumble after partying the night away).
The entire day was filled with personal touches and a whole lot of love. A favourite moment was when Tiff’s dad singing her a song during the speeches….there was not a dry eye in the tent. However, not to be outdone, Tiff and Jack’s beautiful little girl also stole the show at times and caused a few tears herself as she walked proudly down the aisle ahead of her mum, before excitedly watching her mum and dad exchange vows. It was an emotional day!
In the evening, the marquee turned into a nightclub, and the band set kicked off an awesome party. I never use flash, instead I want to capture the real essence of the environment; the darkness, the colour, the emotion. It can be challenging, and it certainly was in this night club of pulsating light. But I love the result of the dramatic lighting (especially the 1st dance).
Oh, and it had to happen one day. I finally fell over at a wedding 😳. The culprit was a low level chain fence outside the church as guests were enjoying some champagne. Luckily only about 100 people saw me, I think I managed to style it out 😉.
A huge thanks must go to Toni Darcy for coming along and second shooting with me. Jack’s prep and some more of the images in the post are Toni’s, she helped me fully document the day with so many guests!
