The morning of Lizzie and Simon’s wedding in February saw me doing my usual early morning routing of walking Quorra (our dog)…but this time we were presented with some unexpected snow. When I arrived at Knowsley Hall in Merseyside an hour or so later there was no sign of the mini blizzard and the girls were underway with hair and makeup. I split my documentary coverage in the morning between Lizzie and her bridesmaids preparing, and Simon and his bestmen/ushers getting ready (most of whom appeared to be called Tom!).
The guys are often showered and dressed in under 10 minutes. However, between sampling whisky, figuring out futuristic Irons, and trying to correctly tie cummerbunds, the guys took nearly as much time as the girls, and I really enjoyed capturing the banter.
Knowsley Hall is an absolutely stunning venue. It was my first visit here and like the guests I was wowed by the building and its beautiful grounds. The ceremony took place in the grand Stucco Ballroom, with hugs/drinks/canapés freely flowing in the main building during the reception afterwards.
It was a pleasure to be a part of such a wonderful day, some of my favourite documentary shots from Lizzie and Simons Knowsley Hall wedding below…

Lizzie’s grandparents unfortunately could not make it on the day – but had a good chat with Lizzie and Simon via skype

Great photographs, the strobe lighting on the dance photographs are amazing. I just love the black and white photographs of the back of the brides dress, with her mum just exposed in the back ground. Keep up the great work.
