Sorrel and Tom – Wadhurst Castle outdoor wedding

Like many 2021 weddings, the planning of Sorrel and Tom’s big day involved lots of cancelled dates and changed plans. But when the wedding finally took place (3rd time lucky), it was one to remember! Amanda Wheal officiated this beautiful Wadhurst Castle outdoor wedding, a venue I’d not visited before, but one I can’t wait to return in the future.

Every year our family go on an epic 3 week camping trip during the school holidays. I strategically ended our trip with a 2-night stay in a lovely Sussex countryside Airbnb, just down the road from Wadhurst castle. Come the wedding day, Laura and our boys explored the surrounding area, and I headed to bride prep at Sorrel’s parents, just a 20-minute drive from Wadhurst Castle.

The emotional ceremony took place on the lawn outside the Castle, with the rolling East Sussex countryside as the backdrop. I love humanist ceremonies, and Amanda ensured it was beautiful and full of personality. Afterwards, it was drinks, canapés and games on the lawn, before speeches and the wedding breakfast in the Carriage barn. The evening saw an epic dance floor as Sorrell, Tom and their guests partied into the night! Some of my favourite frames are below…
