Southwark Registry Office Wedding – Hanan and George

I’ve mentioned many times. I’m not a fan of wedding traditions, couples should not feel bound by pre-defined rules and etiquette! Hanan and George did things their own way. The morning set the tone for this, with both getting ready together in their home – super chilled and excited for the day ahead. Once ready it was a short taxi ride to their Southwark registry office wedding, a beautiful bouquet of flowers each as they walked down the small aisle. together.

“Oh my god these are WONDERFUL!!!!! It has filled us with SO much joy looking through all of these, and a little bit of sadness that it’s all over! It’s so special as well to be able to see other parts of the day that we missed. And there are some absolutely AMAZING photos in there – that one of my nephew on the sofa with the red hue is just beyond. Hanan and George lived in Cairo for a number of years, returning just before lockdown. Now in their new Bermondsey home, it was going to be a great chance to celebrate with friends and family. The day was an international affair, with guests travelling from afar for the celebrations! After the ceremony and some drinks at Southwark registry office, everyone headed to The St James of Bermondsey pub to continue the party. Hanan had told me she appreciated my approach of only using available light on the dancefloor, an approach that I feel provides a more realistic sense of the atmosphere than using flashguns. Speaking of the dancefloor, huge trays of shots kept appearing! Hanan was weaving and dancing through the crowds to make sure everyone had a few all night!

My boys are always interested in the weddings I document and love looking at the photos as I edit them (sometimes lending a helping hand). When editing Hanan and Georges’ wedding, Lev was blown away by Hanan’s nephew’s sparkly glitter outfit with a lightning bolt. So much so, we sourced one and Lev received his own for Christmas. Two years later, he still wears it all the time and is the envy of all his schoolmates!
