Natalie and Clayton’s relaxed Spanish themed wedding this summer was one of the most fun weddings I’ve covered. Focusing on celebrating their marriage, and having an awesome party, it was a pleasure to be part of 🙂
I’ve shot many weddings in Yorkshire, but this was my first time to the beautiful Yorkshire Wedding Barn in Richmond. I stayed at a local B&B the night before. As usual Christine at Skeeby Lodge sorted me with an awesome Full English breakfast (not in keeping with the Spanish them, I know) – it was so good I tweeted it.
A short drive over to the Yorkshire wedding Barn. Natalie and the girls were having fun getting ready in the main house, whilst Clayton and his best man suited and booted in one of the on site cottages. A brief moment when the rings were “misplaced” caused some fraught faces with the boys, but both Natalie and Clayton were clearly excited about the day ahead.
The ceremony was due to take place outside overlooking the beautiful lake, however the windy conditions down by the lake would play havoc with the veil and dresses, so the ushers were put to good use moving the chairs closer to the house. A truly touching humanist ceremony was conducted by Hannah Wroe Gill. The perfect mix of humour and emotion, humanist ceremonies are completely personal, and often engage the guests in a way other ceremonies don’t. There were tears and laughter from the happy couple and guests alike.
Tapas and Sangria flowed and the party started straight away. A beautiful Spanish guitar duet played throughout the day, and when the live band kicked off in the evening, you couldn’t keep anyone off the dancefloor!
I loved this wedding, here’s what happened…
