Lindsay and Matts Wedding at Gibbon Bridge

I first met Lindsay and Matt back in July 2011, I was photographing the wedding of their good friends Neil and Mel at the Inn at Whitewell when Matt was an usher. Fast forward 11 months and Neil was an Usher for Matt’s wedding to Lindsay. I was looking forward to seeing some familiar faces as I documented the day – my first visit as a Gibbon Bridge wedding photographer.

Lindsay and Matt live in the North East, but Matt’s family are from Lancashire (Matt is regularly back home to visit Goodison park for Everton Home matches). It was at Matts mum’s house that I started the day, where Lindsay, her parents and bridesmaids prepared for the big day.

The morning bridal preparation is often portrayed as stressful and hectic but in my experience this is rarely the case. Lindsay and the girls were very relaxed all morning, chilling with champagne whilst they had their hair done and make-up applied.

The ceremony took place at the local St Teresa’s in Penwortham, the very same church Matt (and his best man!) was Christened at, a building with lots of memories for Matt and his family and a fitting place for the wedding ceremony.

After a lovely ceremony, we all headed over to the stunning Gibbon Bridge in Lancashire. A wedding venue nestled in the heart of the Lancashire countryside, the weather on the day allowed the guests to fully appreciate the stunning gardens.

It was a pleasure asked to document the day for Lindsay and Matt. Some kind words emailed to me by Lindsay after I sent over the images…

“Adam, they are fantastic. You really did catch all of the emotion of the day, just looked at them and I’ve been laughing and crying.  Thank you so much”

More photos can be found on my facebook page, family and friends can view all the images from the day here. Please feel free to leave a comment, or get in touch if your looking for a documentary wedding photographer and would like further information.

  1. Cracking set of images Adam. Lindsay is such a smiler. It’s great to see so much happiness. I particularly enjoyed seeing the team work going on during preparations with Lindsay fixing her mum’s hair while she in turn fixes dad’s tie.
