Wedding Photographer at Samlesbury Hall
This was my second time as a wedding photographer at Samlesbury Hall, a historic stately home, with the odd ghost or two in residence 😉
Being a documentary wedding photographer, the main aim of my coverage is to provide couples with a lasting memory of their day without interfering. I strive to create images that not only tell stories on their own but also build a picture of the wedding day when viewed as a collection.
The wedding of Beth and Mike brought home the importance of capturing the spirit of the day. Unfortunately, Beth’s Mum was taken ill just before leaving for church in the morning and could not attend the wedding. It was difficult for Beth and Michael, with the conflicting emotions during the ceremony and reception. The support and love for each other, and that of their families and friends, was clear to see during an emotional day. I made it my job to capture the atmosphere, emotion and moments without imposing.
Find below some of my favourite shots from the day. More images can be found on my facebook page, and friends and family can view all the images from the day in my client gallery.
Finally, a few snippets from a very lovely email I received from Beth and Mike:
Thank you soooooo much for the photos…As we expected you captured some amazing moments on our wedding day. We were both amazed at how invisible you were on the day and yet the photos reveal quite the opposite, you were in the action capturing all the special moments. Cataloguing our day was even more crucial than I ever anticipated and I don’t believe anyone could’ve done it better. I never thought I’d say this, but I actually enjoyed being photographed for once in my life!!!

Love that shot at the register signing. Talk about emotion! Really nice capture.
Lots of lovely tender moments here, particularly like the register signing and speeches.

Lovely images mate. Another signing of the register cracker.
Beautiful Adam.
On a side note, I love your B&W processing.
Some lovely black & white work here Adam, really strong, and full of contrast – just the way I like ’em! Love the look you achieve with architecture too, from the stained glass windows to the iron railings and the stone work… great texture to your photography.
Lovely work as always Adam. I really love that kiss shot with the bride in the car – and the colour first dance shot too. All very wonderful images.
Great images, I love how you time your capture when people touch each other. Awesome stuff.
Cracking documentary wedding photography, Adam. Love that shot of the kids with the iPad.
Love that shot of the Groom awaiting his bride in the church – great set Adam.
