Peak District Wedding Photographer : Caroline and Louis
When Caroline and Louise first contacted me about being their Peak District wedding photographer, we were right in the heart of the pandemic. Caroline and Louis even more so. Both doctors, they had plans to take a year off work and go on a tandem bicycle tour of Europe, but put this on hold to stay in London and work in Emergency medicine and Intensive Care. They also started planning their wedding! Superheros!!
The wedding date had to be put back once, but last year the big day finally happened, and what a day it was! The tandem bike played a huge part, as the dancing (Louis was part of a sell out breakdancing fringe show – see the photos!). Also, Hip Hop ceilidh is my new favourite thing, Notoruis J.I.G. were awesome!
Caroline grew up in the beautiful Peak District. The reception and wedding breakfast was in her parents neighbours paddock, and ceremony outdoor at the nearby grounds of the Youth Hostel. When you love the outdoors as much as these guys, grew up in the Peaks (Edinburgh for Louis), then a bit of rain is not going to but a dampener on your outdoor ceremony, and a special rainy ceremony (complete with cup of tea) was expertly conducted by their friend Liam. Although I was glad I brought 2 rain jackets, 2 pairs of shoes and wellies!
It was a genuine honour to capture the day, and yesterday (by coincide), I discovered the photos from Caroline and Louis’ wedding won a “story award” over on “This is reportage”. That selection was just 16 photos, below are my favourite 100 storytelling images of the day.
Thank you so much for all the amazing photos. We sat down and looked through them last night and had such joy doing so. You’ve captured the day perfectly and your eye for an image and composition is outstanding.Caroline and Louis
