Travel Photography

I’ve not blogged for a while, the reason for this is that Laura and I have been on the other side of the world in Australia 🙂 Regular readers of the blog may think this a little greedy, its not even a year since we were in Australia last! But it was a free trip, so we couldn’t say no!

It wasn’t actually a ‘free trip’ it was acquired with skill and luck, and when we were in Australia last year, Laura had both. In April, we set out on a round the world trip (photos of which were posted here as we travelled) – visiting Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and the USA. It was an amazing trip, especially for a photographer such as myself! Whilst in Australia, Laura and I got some great photos of kangaroos on the beach, Laura got a really special photo of two fighting, and after posting it on facebook, everyone loved it!

When we arrived back in the UK, Laura submitted the photo to a competition with Austravel to win a free trip to Sydney – a few months later after learning she was on the shortlist, Laura received a phone call to say she had won! (although she thought it was a prank call arranged by me until she had written confirmation!)

Ive not yet edited all the photographs from our prize holiday. So below are some photos from our round the world trip from last year. I try to include people in most of the shots, as I think this provides a better story. Something I am keen to do when on my travels, as well as when documenting weddings.

All taken by me, except the very last one – the winning image by Laura!

  1. FABULOUS set of images, really genuinely mean that, from one photographer to another. Roos fighting on the beach, priceless. Long exp city skyline, superb. Umbrella man on the beach and the kids surfing out to the boat – particularly liked that one. What a travelog. Kindest, Neale

  2. Stunning work – more than just a reportage wedding photographer eh! Honestly really lovely stuff just loving your use of natural light and the compositions you have found are spot on. Very well done you must be super pleased with them.

  3. Inspiring set of images. So happy for you both that you get to go back again and shoot some more. 🙂 The swimming pool image is mad. Mrs P’s image is fantastic.
