Professional Documentary Wedding Photographer of the Year

Yesterday, Professional Photographer magazine announced the winners of the prestigious Professional Photographer of the Year Awards. I’m delighted to say I won!!!:-)

There were 12 categories, and being a documentary wedding photographer, I entered and won the ‘documentary weddings’ group. Award winning documentary wedding photography is difficult, and with over 6000 entries from across the world in total, competition this year was high.

Adam Scorey, one of the judges in the panel said “When we saw the final quantity of images entered, we were flabbergasted. However, what did dawn on us that we needed to shortlist 6,000-plus images to just 16! It took far longer than we initially thought, especially as at virtually every other image we were exclaiming “Wow!” The standard of entries, not that I am complaining, was very high in all categories

I’m over the moon, and will be attending an awards ceremony in London at the end of the month. My photo, along with the runners up and other category winners will be on display at the Print Space in London.

My winning photo – from Mel and Neils wedding last year, is below 🙂
