Lauren and Ric’s Stubton Hall wedding at the end of last year was a really special day, a lovely couple that have been together since school, it was clear to see the love between them throughout the day!
Winter weddings are often associated with dark days and dodgy weather. No such problems for this December wedding – it was a glorious day! Photographically, the limited amount of light at this time of the year can sometimes be challenging, but personally I love a winter wedding and the sun (when it makes an appearance) utilised correctly, allows you to capture shots with great depth.
The whole day, from morning prep throughout to the fun and games in the evening were held at Stubton Hall, a venue I have never visited before, but it is stunning! The preparations in the morning also introduced me to the excellent florist Mrs Umbels and Jenn Edwards Hair and Makeup – both fantastic to work with, and worth checking out if you are getting married in Nottinghamshire.
The atmosphere all day was really relaxed, and this allowed me to mingle with the guests and capture the atmosphere of the day. In the evening Lauren and Ric ensured all the guests were entertained, with party games galore, and pancakes and ice cream on tap – I may have had a taster of these 🙂
Some of my favourite images from this amazing Stubton Hall wedding are below, along with a message I received from Lauren and Ric after sending the gallery over…
“Adam, I really don’t know what to say! Neither of us do. The photos are beyond incredible and we can’t begin to thank you enough :-)”
If you are getting married and would like to discuss my documentary approach to photographing your big day, please do contact me to see some more images and receive a brochure.

I’m sure you just pushed several photographers to up their game another notch. Terrific stuff Adam. Oh, and the swinging earring!
A really cracking set, man, so good! Awesome use of light, and fab moments captured, too. Just great.
Wow! Loving your warm tones in the colours. You’ve used the light superbly, esp in prep. Is that OCF I see? (nailed it!) 😉
Thanks guys. Yep, bit of OCF for the last shot David, I use it at the odd wedding when it suits 🙂
Amazing, Adam! One of your best yet, if not THE best. 🙂 And what light during bride prep!! You captured it perfectly.
Thanks Karli 🙂

Great use of light Adam and those ceremony images are so intimate. Beautiful work dude.
The word that kept coming to mind as I was looking at these was ‘elegance’. So beyond pretty in such a refined matter. Love your documentation of the day.
Thanks for the kind comments 🙂
I love that shot where she is framed in the door AND framed in the mirror. Lots of symmetry, framing and just all around good stuff. 🙂
Ohhh wow, the light and contrast in these is so stunning.
You always tell such a beautiful story – gorgeous pictures Adam xx
Adam, what a stunning set of images. I knew on the 36 exp wedding workshop the other week that you were good but this is incredible work. The tones in the colour images and the use of light is awesome. Without doubt some of the best images I have seen anywhere! Just when I thought this is my favorite the next image changed my mind again. Brilliant story telling incredible images. Thanks for keeping me inspired and giving me something to aim for…Warren
Thanks Warren!!
