Best of Wedding Photography – 2019
2019. This one really did fly by! Travelling around the UK and Europe to capture the wedding stories of so many amazing couples, I’ve had a blast! I’ve also shot more documentary portraits this year, images I value so much more now I that have two fast growing troublemakers of my own!
As well as travelling to Europe for weddings, I’ve been lucky enough to have 2 trips to Mexico….1 family holiday and an 8street trip to photograph Day of the Dead (images on my street Instagram) I’ll be sharing some Mexico photos on here soon!
It’s been another great year for awards too. I found out I was in the top 10 for the “2019 MyWed photographer of the year” award with Morgane + Cyril’s wedding in France. I also placed 14th in the world on renowned documentary wedding photography website This is Reportage, something I’m super chuffed about.
I must admit that sometimes I find writing blog posts difficult (as you’d aspect I much prefer to express myself through photo’s rather than words!) and I’m way behind blogging my weddings because of this. However I always look forward to putting together my end of year post. It gives me the opportunity to go back through every wedding I’ve shot, bringing back memories of the day and allowing me to analyse my work. During the hectic shooting season, it’s easy to forget the many images that I’ve delivered! Originally I selected over 500, many of these will feature in blog posts over the year, but I’ve narrowed these down to 75 frames for this post.
A huge thanks to every couple that had me along for their wedding day ride. Every one has genuinely been a pleasure to capture. Working shouldn’t be this much fun! I’ve loved every minute of it.
So, a few of my personal favourite wedding images, selected to best reflect my own view of the wedding day. The images I look for and love. The unusual, funny, weird and real moments.
Nothing staged. Enjoy and feel free to leave a comment….
